On Monday, August 24th, The Rotary Club of Florence, Kentucky will have the pleasure of hearing from Mark Looy, Co-Founder, Vice President of Outreach/Chief Communications Officer for Answers in Genesis (AiG), Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Mark will be giving the club an update on the activities at AiG.
In addition to handling AiG’s media requests, Looy’s duties also extend to event organizing and marketing. As VP of 
Outreach, he spearheaded the famous Bill Nye/Ken Ham debate in 2014 and oversees the more than 250 Bible-upholding conferences organized by the ministry each year. As CCO, he also interfaces with local and national media, booking speaking and media engagements for AiG president Ken Ham.
He has been interviewed and quoted by such news sources as the Washington Post, New York Times, ABC’s World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, the BBC and countless others.
Furthermore, Looy co-produces ANSWERS with Ken Ham, a daily radio feature heard on over 1,000 stations worldwide. He also serves as science and culture editor for AiG’s popular and award-winning Answers magazine and writes and edits AiG’s monthly newsletter.
Born in Australia, Looy has lived in four countries. He earned bachelors and masters degrees in history from San Diego State University and did postgraduate work in Scotland under a full Rotary Scholarship (1983-1984). He also completed several doctorate-level courses in education at Alliant University near San Diego. 
Like his multi-faceted position at AiG, Looy’s personal life experiences are equally diverse. In 1984, he embarked on an around-the-world trip encompassing 20 nations. In all, he has traveled to 58 countries. He has also co-written a sports book featuring interviews with the world’s greatest athletes and has participated successfully on three TV quiz shows – on two of them he won the grand prize.
Looy and his wife, Renee, live in Florence, Kentucky, and they have three sons.
